    Hi
I was wondering how you did with the eye shadow? I have also in the last 2 years became allergic to all my makeup especially eye. I’ve tried a couple organic shadows with no luck. I to think its the mica. I was hoping to try out ominas shadow for an up coming wedding.

Well unfortunately I did throw a reaction to the eyeshadows, which was bizarre because 2 of the shadows don’t have Mica in them! I think my condition might be far worse than what I originally thought it was. I am seeing a new allergist next month to try and figure out what it going on! If you strictly have a MICA allergy, then I’d definitely give them a shot. Let me know how it works for you!

Ooooh, I love this brand. Their foundations are the only ones that work for me. (Based on comment above: Have you ever thought about reacting to iron oxides or ultramarine since they are in everything and especially concentrated in eyeshadows? That’d be rough, as such a popular makeup artist, to react to makeup yourself! Eek!!) Also LOVE Omiana mascaras – only ones that don’t drive my eyes nuts. Thanks for reviewing!

I’m so glad their foundations work for you! I absolutely love the one I have. Such a great coverage and looks fantastic on the skin. The fact that I can take a selfie with the front facing camera and still have my skin looking great says a lot 😛

I’m thinking that’s exactly what I am also throwing an allergy to. I have a new appt. with a different allergist, so I’m hoping i get some input there! 🙁 Such a bummer!

    Hi Lindsay

May I ask what shade of Omiana foundation do you use? I’m looking to order some but I’m based in the UK so am going to have to guess the best shade! I’m blonde & fair skinned like you so probably quite similar colouring.

It’s great to find this blogy as I am having an absolute nightmare with my nickel allergy. My doctor has ordered me to get rid all make up that has mica, titanium dioxide etc in it but the UK has very few brands that do cosmetics that are 100% without these ingredients so I’m having to look to the US …

    Thank you!

Hi! I got my foundation is Medium-Light Gold. I would definitely try out their products especially if you specifically need to avoid Mica and Titanium Dioxide! Good Luck, I hope this works great for you!!

    Lindsay,
Look into something called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. I have MCAS and have triggers to myriad substances, including most eye makeup and every moisturizer I’ve ever tried. I’m almost certain one of my triggers is iron oxides, which seems to be universal to foundations. I continue to use makeup, but take days off. That you have dark circles sounds indicative to me of chronic inflammation.
    Take care,
    Marie

(Also, I’m vegan. So I have been struggling for some time to find safe, effective, and cruelty-free products, from face wash to foundation! I have developed sensitivity even to argan oil.)

Thank you for that info! I will definitely look into it. I believe Iron Oxides are a trigger for me as well. I wish it was easy to create your own products, I would have been on that ASAP! lol What are you using currently?
