Friday Favorites – Cheap DIY Marble Desk

If you’re anything like me, you love the look of marble but hate the price tag it comes with.

I adore the idea of having a white marble desk in my office but after my recent search, I realized I wasn’t going to be able to buy 1/2 of the desk I wanted.

I was pretty disappointed until I came across the idea of applying Marble Contact Paper to the desk I already currently have.

So I went on Amazon and found that this paper was insanely durable and most importantly, extremely affordable compared to the real thing. I checked out all the reviews with photos attached and was instantly convinced that this DIY project was going to be in my near future.

Fast forward to yesterday, I made sure I had all the supplies I needed and it was go time.

Wanna know how I did it?! Follow down below.

Supplies needed:

Marble Contact Paper (I bought 3 rolls, only needed 2)

Xacto Knife

Shower Squeegee

Paper Towels

..oh and someone to help you out 🙂

Step 1: Make sure desk is completely clean.

Step 2: Measure out the contact paper according to the desk. As they say: measure twice, cut once.

Step 3: Spray Windex on desk before applying paper. Trust me, it makes it A LOT easier to adjust and apply.

Step 4: Smooth out the paper with squeegee and wipe away any excess Windex.

Let me know if you guys have or are planning on trying this out!

Now that I have an extra roll, I’m trying to figure out what to apply it to!

Any suggestions?!

Happy Friday!
